Why Collective Bargaining? 

Our Situation at Ohio University
Today, our role in the academic mission of Ohio University seems precarious.

Senate resolutions are routinely ignored, promises of salary increases take shape as de facto pay cuts, the administration dips into our healthcare fund to mend shortfalls elsewhere in the budget, the Provost is reclassified as an administrative officer instead of chief academic officer, the Faculty Handbook is followed only after a showdown.... The list goes on.

Our primary responsibilities as teachers, scholars, scientists, and artists can't be separated from the security of our livelihoods.

Our Mission:
OU-AAUP works for the betterment of Ohio University through the protection of Faculty rights and responsibilities, thereby promoting the best possible learning environment for our students and best possible working environment for the faculty.
